Teaching the Art of Healthy Living
The purpose of this action research is to provide a convenient way to stay in shape and pursue a healthy lifestyle using online social interaction.
I began asking what would happen if I took my passion of healthy living and used online interaction to teach, motivate, and inspire people leading sedentary lifestyles (those who have jobs that are at risk of long-term ill health effects from too much sitting).
I hope to demonstrate how I am improving my practice, as well as how I can contribute to the body of literature by developing an online community and creating resources that people can access for their daily health and wellness needs. These will include online videos of exercises that can be done at home or at work, words of inspiration and motivation that can be read anywhere, and a place for two-way communication between me and participants. I will improve my practice by improving the health lives of those who are willing to participate in this research project.
